Sculpture made by hand and ceramic extruder with different types of refractory clays and shiny transparent enamel

This Fluid sculpture is about the continuous changes of matter. Process and result imply mutually by coming together into one single piece of art. Clay's properties, its plasticity, the way it falls and interweaves, its strength and fragility, all these qualities are contained in the finished sculpture. A combination of organic and fluid forms that suggest movement and interrelation between its parts.

In the relationship between the forms there is a narrative of proximity, of contact, of encounter, and it is probable that this narrative is not only composed of concepts but fundamentally of sensations. In Oscar Barbery's work, sculpture is the verb, it is the action and it is the subject, its formal constitution is the result of representations of the self-determined movement of matter: undefined bodies that attract, compose and project themselves. The relationship between them suggests a new nature or an amplified nature. A Latin American artist who has lived in Europe for more than 10 years, he works mainly with clay and its ceramic processes.
