Word from the artist:

To me this piece is much more than just a bold statement or friendly suggestion. In many ways it tells the story of my own struggles in life, my creative background, dealing with perfection, doubts, fears, loss and family legacy.
The (wall-)sculpture itself consists of my fathers’ handwriting. It was recovered from old poems, scribbles and notes lying around at the creative studio where he died unexpectedly in 2012. Each letter is carefully selected, digitalized, tuned and remade into this wall sculpture. It has been part of the process of re-finding my own creative path while honoring/ignoring my dads legacy. Hearing him along the way in my creative process.

Besides all this it represents my love for graffiti/street art, fascination for finding crossovers between creative disciplines and placing stuff out of context. I started writing graffiti and creating murals when i was about 13 years old. It had a big influence on my development as an artist and my work as graphic designer.

About fear.
This has been my personal mantra for quite some time now.
Fear comes in all shapes and sizes and we all suffer from it more or less. For me as an artist, letting go of fear is essential to create, trust the process and embrace failure and imperfectionism.
Hope this piece will make a difference..

“Fear destroys more dreams than failure ever could.
