About The Artwork

This is a philosophical joke. The Greek myth told that the world was supported by Atlas. But what supported Atlas? one philosopher asked. The reply. "Atlas stands on a turtle." "And what supports the turtle?" "Another turtle. And it's turtles all the way down." This sculpture is a modular construction upon a steel pole in the center. It is easily disassembled and reassembled for packing.
