My proposal "Le regard de l'eau" is a dynamic, interactive and playful piece, inviting young and old to come face to face with the work. In fact, the work is made up of 266 double-sided polished stainless steel mirrors that can swing in the wind. In this way, the large mirrored wall is activated by the slightest flow of air to become a dynamic surface reminiscent of a mirrored water surface. The reflections of the spectators become animated and distorted, giving the illusion of a dance carried by these almost aquatic undulations. Segmented, the reflections blend landscape, spectator and light. The experience of being confronted by the "gaze of water" is firstly a joyful, playful moment, and secondly a way of opening up to a number of questions in many areas of our lives: the materiality of things and of our lives, the fragility of living things and of the world around us, the connection between living things as well as the connection we have with the landscape, opening up to a wider world as if this "dematerialization" gave access to other layers of perception to better apprehend the elements: water, air, earth and light. Ultimately, "Le regard de l'eau" is like a door or a window inviting us to look at ourselves and the world differently. This work is currently being produced by the Moscatelli company in Entraigues-sur-la-Sorgue, a specialist in stainless steel for industrial boiler-making and patron of the "Le regard de l'eau" project. A text on this work is currently being commissioned from art historian and curator Marianna Gelussi (Arles). This indoor production (activated by fans) was presented in the "Nous, les fleuves" exhibition at Lyon's Musée des Confluences in 2022-2023.

Laurent Valera is a multidisciplinary visual artist. He explores many fields of contemporary visual art: painting, sculpture, installation, photography, video and performance. His curiosity and his desires lead him to shift his fields of action in order to experiment and develop transdisciplinary projects such as the contemporary dance piece "Souffles" in collaboration with choreographer Christine Hassid. Like an archaeologist digging into geological strata, Laurent Valera explores the liquid spaces of water. Water is like a surface that reveals a depth in which we can speculate, like a material to think about, to dream about, to study, to recreate. Laurent Valera sees water as the structuring element of life, both in its form and in its aspirations, carrying and traversing living things for over three billion years. It is on this basis that he constructs a profusion of proposals that enable him to question both life and the workings of our contemporary societies. Through his work and his artistic proposals, Laurent Valera pursues his understanding of life and the living. He trained in self-induced cognitive trance with Corine Sombrun and her team at the TranceLab Institute in 2022. His creative journey is a life path leading to spiritual development.
