While searching for wood in a lumber yard I happened upon two sawn off wooden joints of a Bailey bridge; the wooden bridge had been erected right after the War to replace the original (bombed) one that had crossed the Juliana Channel at the town of Born. As the two pieces stood erect, side by side, I somehow envisioned two large heads protruding from the earth and it was up to me to visualize them. As the wood comes from Africa it seemed appropriate to treat the two heads to be, as originating from their African roots. The owner of the yard was glad to comply.
