Falling With Grace is an abstract fusion of organic and geometric shapes, yet it suggests the silhouette of a lady off balance. Whether it is falling in love, letting go of control, living to the fullest, she is letting grace take over her.
As in all the Involutati sculptures, it constantly transforms in a play of light and shadows, making it always evolving, like if it were dancing.
It is cast in resin with white Carrara marble powder (marmolina) and its surface softly shines. It is a limited signed edition of 8. It can take up to 2 weeks to have ready to ship the next available piece of the edition.
It is featured in the short film “Involutati, A Journey of the Soul Through Matter”, and is part of a subgroup of sculptures of that series depicting passion (see MD XIV – Diva, MD V).

Of all the art disciplines I practice, sculpture is where I can best develop the sense of harmony and conflict between our human nature and our spiritual nature. Thus, using matter to manifest the spirit has been my first and most important motive as an artist, whether it is pure matter shaped in my hands, like in my Involutati series, or elements of the material world used to re-signify and re-dimension our relationship to it. My work has a conceptual, playful and critical side, and a more abstract, sensual and lyrical side; however, the two coincide in my main theme, which is exploring the intimate motivations of human behaviors, in particular to question what we assign to fate in order to disengage ourselves from our responsibility (such as the institutionalization of violence, greed and destruction of our own habitat). Understanding our essence to be divine, our nature to be imperfect, and our main goal to experiment the divine through the material creation, I am fascinated by the complexity of contradictions we face as humans in our search for happiness. No matter how diverse, my work is always a reflection of my philosophy of life, consequence of what I have learned from it so far, by living in many external places and practicing introspection. I was born in Paris, France, and grew up in Strasbourg where I studied art, literature, music, theater and also dance, to which I dedicated 10 intense years of my life. At 22, I went to Washington DC, and decided to stay in New York City, as I fell in love with the City and got a dance scholarship. I never returned to France except to visit or present exhibitions, staying ten years in New York, a short time in Tokyo, and for the past 23 years I’ve been living in Mexico. While in NY, dance and painting, which were two complementary aspects of my creativity, merged into one: Sculpture. In it, I found a more profound way to explore what fascinates me the most, the double nature of the human being, who is both physical and spiritual. I have been a sculptor for the past 20 something years, working at first with plastiline to make bronze, and than expanding to many mediums and also larger sizes. I love installations that involve more the spectator into a contemplative state.
