Nap Time Sculpture - Limited Edition of 40

This little guy or gal is trying to get that blanket just right to take a nap. Dogs inspire my sculptures, they are such pure hearted animals. With my bronzes I want my customers to have personal connection with my pieces. I offer these personal touches by resculpting personal features of customers dogs when possible. Patinas are based off of customers photos and I try to match this as closely as I can. Patinas are not like painting, a torch and chemicals are used to achieve colors. Many times I’m only using 3 chemicals and the torching heats the bronze up which also determines colors of each chemical. I cast using the lost wax method and I pour the waxes, chase the waxes and put a gating system on them. Then I take them to a bronze foundry to cast and I have my metal guy fix them up before patina.
