The challenging nature of creating original Pysanky style egg art was what drew me to this artform. This ostrich egg is the first of many Pysanky style eggs I have completed over the years. Relaxing and beautiful, this egg will bring vibrant beauty to any egg collection.

The history Of the Pysanky Egg:
Ukrainian Easter eggs are called pysanky, which derives from the verb for “to write.” The practice of decorating eggs dates back to pagan times. Though ancient examples of pysanky have not survived due to the delicate nature of the eggshells, ceramic “eggs” decorated with patterns and images have been found in burial sites and during archeological digs. Pagan symbolism, such as the “tree of life” or goddess symbolism, adorns eggs even today, hearkening back to the pre-Christian era and providing information about pagan religious worship and the priorities of their daily lives.

EDBY STUDIOS Elegant Designs For Life Hi! My name is Yvonne, and I have been creating unique, beautiful works of art since childhood. In 2000 my view of my art changed, and I began to take my talent seriously. Turning out beautiful, refurbished furniture pieces, resin countertops, acrylics, watercolors, pencil/ink drawings etc... Once I started, I could not stop, and now I want to share my art with you. Each piece of art is a labor of love from me to you. My goal is to see every home filled with beautiful unique works of art. I also care deeply about my community and will be making a yearly donation to charities which support victims of domestic violence and child abuse/neglect. As a survivor, I have learned to "BE FEARLESS!" And I hope to pass this motto along to those who believe their world has imploded. If you are a victim of domestic violence and need help, please call 1-800-799-7233. TTY: 1-800-787-3224. Or visit thehotline.org, an advocate is available 24 hours a day 365 days per year.
