About The Artwork

It is a sentinel made up of a textured gray metal disc, fixed to the top of a black column mounted on a metal base. The work is an assembly of objects inspired by the tribal art of Gabou and Congo. To represent this major star, an ideal celestial object often eroticized in poetry, I have combined femininity and masculinity. An important figure in many traditions, she rules the night but also has a huge influence on nature, on agricultural life and on people's moods. I dare to hope that my sculpture will have the same magical influence as its model.

After a career as an illustrator, my installation in the countryside, at the gates of the Dordogne, brings me to sculpture and photography. I wish that each of my works tells a story that crosses its spectator and transmits an energy and a mystery that it has itself drawn from music and dance, poetry and cinema. My sculptures and my images are aimed at an emancipated public and all spiritualities. I want them to be the medium of infinite and changing dreams. I like to seek a harmony, a balance, in the real, mental and intimate space of my workshop, creating a playful chaos inspired by the vigor of nature, its anarchic and convulsive profusion by listening to the schizophrenic desiring who is in me. "Chance is the grand master of all things, necessity comes only afterwards, it does not have the same purity." Luis Bunuel To exist as an artist is to resist vulgarity and regression happily, seriously, furiously and morally. My thoughts, my feelings, my memories invite me to a thought that is corrected at all times and, fortunately, deviates from the direction established by the norm, the custom and the social consensus. This thought travels on unexpected paths that lead to the creative adventure, to another vision of things and therefore to a personal way of life.
