About The Artwork

I have a responsibility to witness the demise of certain animal species. The polar bear is an iconic symbol of how animals are having their habitats systematically destroyed by an out of control capitalist system. Trying to find materials rather than causing more demand 'Polar bear' is made from either found or recycled materials and objects, a printed circuit and eroded metal retrieved from the foreshore here in Penzance, the plastic bear from Ebay. I hope that this assemblage might help to remind us of our part in the cycled of demand and supply that threatens life on this planet. The objects and materials used for 'Polar bear had been in my studio for some time until they found themselves joined together. There is a hole in the rear which can be used to hang this piece.
