About The Artwork
I created this sculpture as one of the early pieces with polished stainless and copper; in all over 50 sculptures with this technique. My gallery representation was in Scottsdale with another in Santa Fe, N.M. and this was the representational sculpture in my first show in In Santa Fe. I had decided to keep this sculpure forever, but decided it's time to let it go. About 1974 the Biltmore hotel burned down in Scottsdale, and the copper roof was scrapped out for the copper. I bought a small truckload of the wrinkle- textured copper, and found a was to weld it to stainless, and the series began. This copper is not from the roof, but is hand textured as are many of this series, as the original copper was used up.
