Slice of Rezykliert Rainbow 4 Sculpture

The artist tries to return wood residues, such as wood shavings and sawdust, back to their original form, the tree, by modeling from a self-produced wood pulp, the individual annual rings, as in a tree from the core starting alternating with artist acrylic paints to the outside. As with a tree that grows, she thus starts from the core inside and models the individual annual rings of the "tree" to the outside. This is an intensive process, as each layer involves a long drying time. Narrow, colored annual rings and wide annual rings of wood paste, reflect the seasons of winter and summer. The cross-section of this slice shows the individual layers elaborately modeled on and is reminiscent of a tree slice, with the lifelines of a tree.
