About The Artwork

As an only child, my friends were the wooden toys and games my mother saved from her childhood. With their chipped paint and worn edges they were treasured family relics and getting to play with them felt like a sacred experience. To me it seemed these objects had power. When my mother and I played with them alongside each other we became children together in a world filled with creative possibilities. By focusing on the good experiences in my past, I discovered the child I once was. Through “re-visioning” these found objects I hope to give viewers an experience of the wonder and whimsy I re-found. My work is my way to inspire imagination and give the past a future life filled with meaning. If old things can be transformed then so can we! SUNDAY DRIVER has good fashion sense. Luckily he is missing a right foot to put to the pedal. Composed of a basket-top hat, tennis racket head, croquet face, handlebar arms, chair body and other sundry parts he's ready to go but since his arms are on backwards hopefully not for any sort of drive. SUNDAY DRIVER is composed of found objects assembled with love and care.
