About The Artwork

Originally, the eight points of the four arms of the later called Maltese Cross represented the 8 Lands of origin of the friar Knights, respectively the organization scheme of the Order speaking from human resources point of view. The eight points are said to symbolize the eight points of courage: Loyalty Piety Generosity Bravery Glory and honour Contempt of death Helpfulness towards the poor and the sick Respect for the church
