About The Artwork
Albastre is one of the most fascinating and difficult stones to sculpt in. Fascinating because daylight will be waiting to rush in while polishing it in the final phase and difficult because of the daylight participating in what you get to see. To link music to a stone is not the obvious thing to do. However, when sculpting the stone with hamer and chisel, the sound of the hamer on the chisel resonates in a hypnotic way. It sounds rather carefree. And of course the sound reveals any hidden cracks in the stone you are carving.
