About The Artwork

When I was a boy I used to make balsa wood planes. They came as a flatpack and I would cut them out with a knife and glue them together. On the end, we stuck plasticine or lead. Then we would fly them. In my mind, I would imagine many things while flying these planes. Such was the nature of being a kid. I see it now in my children. Their ability to imagine things to the point where they almost become real. It's a pity that gets lost somewhat. No matter how hard I try, the game of makebelieve is no longer the same. But I always will endevour to be Peter pan just the same. This sculpture is made of laminated macocarpa 2inches thick and house paint. It is weatherproof and also has a protective varnish of the exterior. On the nose is lead. The plane comes flat packed 3.7m / 1m / 200mm.
