About The Artwork

Through the embodiment of the soul, the body's objects, the Moon pendant is a sculptural piece made from 9.25 silver and Moonstone, doesn't come with a chain. I designed it as a kind of talisman with organic forms that mimic the shadow movements of the moon. The moon has held significant meaning in various civilizations, mostly symbolizing the circle of life and future preservation. It is often represented by female goddesses such as Isis and Hecate. This artwork is an attempt to scrutinize something that could be called the soul and its importance in our meaningful existence. In this body of work, which includes photographs, jewelry, and ceramics, I question the ways in which we express ourselves through material objects and how they reflect not only our primary needs but also our most transcendental ones like fear, hope, sense of preservation etc. A mythological narrative gives way to rituals centered around specific objects in which we deposit our beliefs, fears, and hopes, and we can relate the soul within. I create these series of jewels objects based on natural abstract forms, as if they were a kind of force kept inside of material that became talismans that can be carried with us. I want to emphasize the significance of this ritualistic discourse, which involves ceremonies of symbols that are becoming less and less important in our aggressive society. My research involves exploring archetypal forms with the aim of reformulating objects given them a more contemporary style. Amulets, talismans, and other objects from a mythological narrative are typically kept differently than common objects. Therefore, I will be sending it to you in an antic wooden box as it is believed to have a long life.
