About The Artwork

Words Our Armor III is a sculptural body form created with white stoneware with hundreds of fingerprints impressed on a female form. This body was then graffitied with hand painted words from Roe V Wade 410 at 153. Words of law a protection of our rights, the representation of a metaphorical armor that held its strength for only 49 years. This piece is dedicated to the women decades before me who fought with their words in song, in protest, in literature and art, for those that continue to fight this war for our rights of choice, our right for equality, for human rights. For the women of Iran who continue to put their lives on the line and those that have died holding the vitality for their right of choice. Women. Life. Freedom. You inspire me to do the same.
