Year of the Pig Sculpture

I have always been intrigued by ancient folklore. One of my favorite legends is the story of the Great Race and the birth of the Chinese Zodiac. My mission for this project, was to sculpt these legendary characters interacting with their Earthly Branches and patinated with their Elemental Colors. The Pig who is Blue representing Water, is one of 12 pieces in this collection. All are sculpted in mixed medium, cast in bronze using the lost wax process and mounted on a granite base. Hard work done with lots of love and a little bit of magic! The Pig is gallant and noble. Friends will always be by your side even though you came in twelfth, last in the Great Race! The Pigs granite base is 8x4x1. This piece is #1 of 3.
