With this artwork I would like to look into what time means for Man. When we are children time has little meaning. The passage between the ages 10-20 is an infinitive process, full of meaning, new sensations and personal experiences. It is the transition between being a child to becoming an adult with different prospectives and expectations. Subjectively this period seemed interminable. At this age of life you don't have the awareness of death. At the most you think that death affects others and not you. As time passes the years pass quicker and the period between 50-60 time passes very quickly, and the ages between 60-70 time is even shorter. An old person who looks back in time says that he doesn't feel his age and that his life had passed rapidly. At this age life is a race towards death. It is as if you drop a glass ball from a height, the marble accelerates its movement downwards until it touches the ground and disintegrates into thousands of pieces. This is TIMEOUT. The painting is sold with a dark brown frame. As you can see in the photo the passe-partout is integral to the artwork.

I resume making art after a long period of interruption. I thought I could start from where I left off. To my surprise my work had mutated. It was as if my work had become a tool with which my emotions and memories may emerge - a kind of self-analysis.. It was as if my work had become an instrument with which my emotions and memories could emerge - a sort of auto analysis. The works I produce today have a central theme - time. These works are on memory, separation, life and death, games played when I was a child and the transformation of our bodies over the passing years. Probably, these themes have been stimulated by the actual phase of my life. I am 60 and at an age when you begin to look back on your own experiences, your own past. It is a moment in your life when your dear ones start to die; it is also a moment in your life when the probability of dying increases. As to the aesthetics, my work is characterized by a precise choice attributing importance to all the structural elements typical of a painting - frame, mount, glass and so on. All these elements contribute to the completion of an artwork. My favourite technique is the collage of photographic images taken from family photo albums, or produced specifically for the artwork with relationship to past images.
