About The Artwork

A rōnin was the description of a samurai with no master. A samurai became masterless from the death or fall of his master, or the loss of his master’s favour, a man who was socially adrift. Isolated, she waits for the master-less Samurai, the ‘wandering man’ to some day return. Some of the flowers in this painting are collage as is the butterfly. Part of the tree is also textured collage. There is a small rectangle piece of cardboard on the back side of the canvas on the right hand side behind the collaged tree branch, reinforcing a small tear in the canvas. The small tear is not visable and has not effected the strength or integrity of the canvas. Some of the green trees have glitter on them. (It is a framed piece. The frame is brown/metallic)

Shipping & Returns

Delivery Time:Typically 5-7 business days for domestic shipments, 10-14 business days for international shipments.

My illustrative paintings seek to present the world of impermanence and fleeting beauty. By combining iconic Art Deco design elements with Japanese and Korean motifs, I hope to lift the viewer into a contemplative world, rich in colour, texture and emotion. I have lived and travelled extensively in the far east. I studied Fine Art at Central St Martins School of Art and Design. I also studied at the design school Ecole Nationale Superieure de Arts Decoratifs in Paris. I am also interested in the role of aesthetics in political culture.
