After spending 11 years in London and Bristol, multidisciplinary artist Laura Bernardeschi, also known as lauraartist68, is now based in Newcastle upon Tyne. In addition, Laura works as a blogger, photographer, life model, and supporting actress. She started her career as a painter in 2017 During her hectic schedule as a life model and actress in the capital, she chose to attempt painting as a way to cope with the stress, loneliness, and anxiety that came with being in an abusive relationship. She began with watercolours because she was not sure what medium to use. However, she soon discovered that acrylic paints had more vibrant colours, so she decided to use them right away to replicate flowers, animals, and other natural elements on canvas or paper, as well as her abstract paintings. Since Laura is originally from Italy, she has always been influenced by the works of the great Italian painters, especially Caravaggio. She became enthralled with the works of Van Gogh, Picasso, Gustav Klimt, Matisse, the Impressionists, and David Hockney during her time in London, thanks to her employment as a life model in the city's top art districts. She began experimenting with various media and styles in the past two years, such as replicating the beauty of the spiritual world. According to Laura, creating art is the most effective way to combat mental health problems and discover the inner light that enables one to have a spiritual connection. Because of Pablo Picasso's influence and her deep admiration for him, Laura believes that art should always have a connection to global social issues and that artists have a message to share with the world. As an emotional abuse survivor, she gives voice to her women, who are typically self-portraits of the artist, and who are prepared to fight for their success and self-respect like "a story to tell." She does not forget the environment and climate change. She attempts to get people to reflect on their mistakes that are endangering the environment through her artwork related to this theme. In the past three years, she has been chosen for both national and international art exhibitions, demonstrating her passion for her work.
