About The Artwork
What I saw was a small but profoundly meaningful photograph of a child, fitting in the palm of my hand. It was poorly preserved, so I attempted to recreate it in a portrait. When the portrait was completed, I sang the words from a song by Anna German to my son: "May no sadness disturb your young soul." That's how the title of this portrait was born. Well, the entire story is now before you. May this portrait serve as a reminder of our actions that influence the present and future of our children.
