About The Artwork
I lived with Josef Kinz(†2018), a jewelry and object artist. We had numerous joint exhibitions and exhibition participations as an artist couple. If one of us didn't take part in the exhibition together, who didn't take part were still present at the vernissage, as an audience. I once had a group exhibition where Josef wasn't there and he wasn't able to be at the vernissage either. That's how i drew him and presented him at this exhibition, so that he can somehow be present, i thought at the time.

Many thin layers of paint applied over large areas - a process lasting several months - result in the characteristic, highly plastic, small-scale structure of the surface that Naoko strives for.
