Bandurek Bradbury’s signature ‘squiggle’ mark making, which uses line thickness, density of stroke, and line direction to give depth and form, are used in this detailed drawing. The collection was born from an observation that, with a few exceptions, the secondary colour palette of a bird is often overlooked in favour of it’s primary colour, its song, it’s form, an unusual feature, or it’s story. Bandurek Bradbury wanted to bring the colour of birds to the forefront and celebrate the unnoticed and often discounted colours found.
