About The Artwork

The inspiration for my artwork "Thinking about Home" comes from my longing for my homeland, Ukraine. The benches of the viburnum covered in snow symbolize the feelings of nostalgia, longing, and comfort associated with the idea of home. The snow represents the coldness of being away from home, but also the warmth of the memories and feelings associated with it. I hope that viewers of this work will feel a sense of nostalgia and longing for their own homes and appreciate the beauty of the imagery. The benches of viburnum and snow create a sense of serenity and peacefulness, and I hope that it will remind people of the warmth and comfort of home. I chose to use dry pastel on black paper as my medium for this piece because the black paper provides a stark contrast to the colors of the pastel, making the image stand out. The viburnum is a common and popular flower in Ukraine, and the subject matter is a symbol of the beauty and warmth of home. The style I used is simple, it's a representation of the essence of the subject matter, and it shows the beauty of simplicity. Ukrainian contemporary artist, I'm forced to stay in Portugal. I use dry and oil pastels to delve into the complexity and depth of human emotions as depicted in everyday life. My art is inspired by individuals who are captivated by the beauty of the world around them, even in the midst of their busy lives. I strive to capture and simplify these fleeting moments in my art, as a reminder that love and beauty can always be found amidst the chaos of the world.
