About The Artwork

~Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance~ Ink on paper, Digital Print This print is a digitally manipulated drawing, completed with ink pen and markers, and depicts central themes of focus in Robert M. Pirsig's novel 'Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance'. The piece attempts to parallel the deep symbolism of the book, including references to non-duality, the concept of dilemma and quality arising out of harmony and balance. The text in the lower portion is an excerpt from the novel: “Peace of mind produces right values, right values produce right thoughts. Right thoughts produce right actions and right actions produce work which will be a material reflection for others to see of the serenity at the center of it all.” ― Robert M. Pirsig, Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance: An Inquiry Into Values

Shipping & Returns

Delivery Time:Typically 5-7 business days for domestic shipments, 10-14 business days for international shipments.

My name is Michael Nicholson, and I am a 21 year old artist from Adelaide, Australia. I have been painting for around 5 years, without any formal training. I attended secondary school at St. Peter's College, and am finishing degrees in Law and Media at the University of Adelaide. Because I have had no institutional training, my art remains quite experimental, both within individual pieces, but also across my portfolio as a whole. I draw inspiration from the beautiful Australian landscape, but also from many other artists. My favourites include Andrew Salgado, Casey Baugh, Francoise Nielly, Ben Quilty and Thomas Moran. If you have any inquiries please feel free to message me, or comment on any of my pieces. Thanks, I hope you enjoy my work!
