About The Artwork

Digital Derivative and Part of a Dyptich (eyes open/eyes closed) which became a favorite in my work over time. Originally it was 'just a test' to apply golden paint to a woman's body/face for a series 'Golden (ancient poses) Statues'. The Test was so popular that it has found collectors worldwide as an original canvas and aluminum print. This is the 2020 version of it with newer digital techniques. It's companion piece ("clue eyes open") is next

Tomas Loewy Bio: Tomas Loewy was born in Prague, grew up in Buenos Aires, Cologne, Frankfurt, Munich and New York. Moving to Miami combined those diverse life experiences into a unique visual expression of optimism, creativity, selected spontaneity, paired with skepticism and sometimes dark sarcasm. Based on his international background in journalism, television, film & online ventures, Tomas found a vision molding images with a feel and love for moments, situations, details and human emotions. Part of this 'just-like-being-there' visual blend comes from the refusal to be content with the comfortable and predictable life most people wish to lead. The right combination of stability and (purposeful) lack thereof became a personal choice: at different times draining, provoking, challenging, depressing, energizing, exhilarating: Always a solid basis for creating unusual images. Besides individual works Tomas pursues several long term series of images: Burning Man (as of now 16 years, a book published, another one on the way, as well as a non-verbal film) + Visual Evolution of Wynwood (9 years of unusual and historical photography integrating amazing street art in Miami's Wynwood district; a book coming in 2020) + Golden Statues (nude models covered in shimmering gold paint from head to toe, in poses of statues, as if they would be displayed in public parks and plazas). These works are also combined into Video Vignette installations with the power to visualize time (series of images to combine up to 500 variations of one image at 2, 6 and 10 frames per second) and influence (manipulate?) the viewer into 'seeing' time passing in front of their eyes; or with very slow and long lasting iterations of the same image morphing into itself. Loewy’s work is in museums and private collections showcasing thru images and visual installations emotions & impacting others by showing facets of life with a like-being-there perspective a spectator would never experience in similar ways.
