VIEW IN MY ROOM
"Crash" is the collective noun for a group of rhinos. The artist reports: "I've been in the African bush on two occasions when rhinos have literally crashed past our vehicle, so close I could have touched them. It's a scary, yet strangely trans-formative process. These animals are almost dinosaur-like, yet here they are in the 21st century. " The artist has used African symbols in the background to convey positive messages into the hanging environment—hope, love, friendship, creativity, growth, teamwork etc. The reds are reminiscent of the heat in the African bush, where temperatures can soar regularly to 40+.

South Africa
Ann is a vibrant and prolific artist, wildlife photographer, and author. She was voted in 2020 as one of South Africa's top artists. She initially became known for her ‘ewe/sheep’ series of work. Whilst maintaining her ironic humor she has painted a number of other series of works, including ‘Wild Life’ ‘Zulu Lulu’ and 'Going to the Dogs series. A recurring theme in her work is a play on words and the use of popular jargon. Her quirky, humorous, yet profoundly insightful art, allows the viewer not only to laugh at themselves but to examine many of the absurd aspects of life.
