The artist also adores creating floral still lives. She primarily works in a semi-abstract manner, combining expressive abstract thick bold strokes which give extra vividness and expressiveness to paintings with finely elaborated features. The artist loves experimenting with mixing colors, playing with textures and tools. She admits that despite using many different tools (brushes, plastic cards, film wrap, forks, napkins, her own fingers, cotton buds, and many others) her best-loved pick and real fav is a palette knife. Valerie says, "it allows creating the textures I myself love touching with hands and eyes to give those rich paintings further to you".
