About The Artwork

Imagine yourself on a hot, sunny summer afternoon. You feel tired of the city chaos, noise, traffic and constant movement. What you most want is to find a peaceful and serene place to rest and recharge. That's how I felt when creating this work of art, Aquarela no Campo - Rural Study I, a contemporary work that illustrates a rural landscape. My inspiration comes from the dream of living in the countryside, where the air is fresh, time is slower and nature is exuberant. Each detail of this work represents a little piece of that dream: the two simple houses, the modest garden, the animals grazing and the two hills with imposing trees in the background. This is a scene that can be found in many places around the world, but for me, it's special because it represents the simplicity and beauty of country life. Creating this work, I chose watercolor as my medium of expression. I love the watercolor because it's translucent and delicate, and manages to capture the lightness and calm that I wanted to convey. I used montval paper slightly grained to give the work a more rustic touch, but at the same time, maintain the delicacy of the watercolor. Every brushstroke I made in this work was carefully thought out to create a feeling of peace, lightness and calm. I hope that when people see this work, they feel the same sense of tranquility that I felt when I created it. I want people to allow themselves to be transported to this rural landscape and feel the cool breeze, hear the birds chirping and feel the peace that nature can give us. In this tumultuous world that we live in, it's important to have moments of serenity and calm. I hope this work can be a reminder to people that the beauty of nature is always around us, if only we look with the right eyes and to the right place.

Hi! My name is Chris, known by the artistic name CrieChris and I am a Brazilian artist, from Vitória at Espírito Santo, who believes that art is an extension of my being and my beliefs. My art is focused on botanical references, like flowers and plants, and I started practicing painting on walls in my own home. I like to bring lightness and transformation to people's lives through my work. For me, being an artist is a continuous process of self-knowledge, and I'm always looking to evolve and improve myself. I like to try new things, both in terms of painting techniques and in other areas of my life. Nature has always enchanted me and inspires me in my work. I love smelling the woods, seeing the sunlight between the trees and putting my feet on the ground. Choosing botanical art as a style never made so much sense, and I feel more and more passionate about studying the colors, shadows and balances that nature provides. Being an artist for me is channeling my feelings and emotions into my work, so that I can create amazing things and bring a bit of beauty and calm to the world. I believe in my art as a tool of transformation, and I hope it can bring peace and inspiration to those who see it. A natureza sempre me encantou e me inspira em meu trabalho.
