About The Artwork

I love snow, I love to watch it fall, I love to watch it melt, I love to walk in it, play in it and I love to paint snow. It is not surprising that I am enamored by the bicycles in snow. They look romantic, the dark of the tires against the white of the snow, metal and nature intertwined. Spending hours with "another's bicycle", I create stories about the owners and riders. Where do they live? Where to they work? What is their commitment to riding? What do they look like? How much motivation does it take to get on a bike in sleet and snow? What is their commitment to this age old eco friendly mode of transportation? Do they ride for pleasure? Do they ride because they are eco conscious? Regardless of the answers, salute to the committed cyclist! Buses, cars and trucks contribute 19% of the greenhouse gas emissions in the city of Philadelphia, the second highest contributor to emissions as of 2015. So get inspired and walk or bike around this beautiful city.
