Bird in Sky Print

This painting was inspired by a young perception of the world. 'Bird in Sky' is intended to portray the universal, nostalgic experience of viewing everything around us as 'larger than life' during childhood. I hope the viewers of this work will be transported back into that unpolluted sense of bewilderment towards things we may have become accustomed to, or uninterested in seeing as we grow older; I want to bring back that sense of magic that occurs within the innocent mind. I started this painting with wanting to create something that I loved to draw or paint as a child: a bird in a sky with a rainbow. I am so pleased that such a basic and whimsical thought resulted in this elevated, fun piece. 'Bird in Sky' is part of a growing series that aims to simplify and create art using a youthful approach. I believe this rules out any debate about meaning and concept so that the viewer may solely focus on the feeling of reminiscence, without the overbearing background voices of conversation that may sometimes be overwhelming. For me, this painting is a temporary time portal into a simpler age.
