About The Artwork

During our holiday in Spain this year, we visited Ronda and its famous bullring (no longer in use and now a museum and tourist attraction). But what really inspired me for this painting was the restaurant where we had lunch! The walls were decorated with photos and posters of bullfights. I was very fascinated by the costumes of the toreros, they were so flamboyant… and so tight! Later, at the souvenir store of the Ronda bullring, I saw a postcard that showed a bullfighter from behind, and what a perfectly rounded ass! I couldn’t get this image out of my head for days 😈 The inner devil is calling again, and it’s time for another gay painting! I didn’t want to glorify such a bloody spectacle and the killing of animals for show, though – tradition or not. (Although I admit I eat meat, so maybe I’m a hypocrite?) I switched the position of the fighter and the bull, and immediately the painting tells a completely different story! The bull wants a piece of that ass, doesn’t he? Maybe this will be my best gay painting of the year.

My art wants to put a smile on your face. All of my paintings tell a story, and every story has a little twist. You'll have to look closely: details matter to me. I was born and grew up in Taiwan, and moved to the Netherlands in 2014, where I am again living now after a 2-year stint in San Diego. You can check out my Instagram for a mix of work in progress and snapshots of my life with husband and cat.
