About The Artwork

Moroccan carpets are among the most famous in the world. One day, I was walking in the city of Fes, and an old man came up to me and offered me to buy a carpet: 'Just take a look.' I refused. I would gladly buy it, but at that time, I didn't even have my own home. I created this painting inspired by that encounter. Against the backdrop of a carpet with vibrant Moroccan patterns, I depicted a cactus resembling aloe, creating a contrast of color and form. Symbolism is embedded in this painting: the cactus becomes a symbol of life energy, while the Moroccan carpet is an expression of respect for traditions and art. Thus, the artwork conveys a profound meaning of encountering natural resilience and cultural richness.
