About The Artwork

California Poppies on the Sonoma Coast is an impressionist painting by California artist, Heidi Heiser. It has rich blues and greens along with our famous California orange poppies. This painting will take you to a field of dreams. I use high quality acrylic paint, various size brushes and palette knives for every composition, and I add several layers of professional varnish to protect art from color fading. The edges of this modern abstract acrylic painting are printed black so it doesn't require framing and it's ready to hang on a wall. This is a painting signed by the California artist, Heidi Heiser. This painting is ideal as an original gift, for weddings, birthdays, or special occasions, for the home, or for the office. It is an affordable painting.

When I start a painting, I explore the mysterious terrain between what can be measured by the physical senses and what can be perceived only by emotions. This very first notion is what interests me the most; trying to capture the vitality and the rich diversity of the scenery while concentrating on the emotional context. I sometimes paint outside, plein air, and when time does not permit that luxury, I use my photography when I get back to my studio in Del Mar. The creative process can clarify the relationship between art and the unconscious in a mystical way. I have evolved using an extreme color pallet including metallic colors which allow me to present an amplification of life, to express a new way of looking at this extraordinary world we live in.
