In " Cards Castle," I use the imagery of a delicate structure made of Hungarian cards in front of the Hungarian parliament to reflect on the fragility and instability of the political system. The House of Cards, a symbol of precarious balance and vulnerability, stands in stark contrast to the imposing and monumental architecture of the parliament building. Through this juxtaposition, I invite the viewer to consider the potential for the collapse of the political system, and the consequences that such a collapse could have for the country and its people. The Hungarian cards, with their unique symbols and designs, add a layer of cultural specificity to the image, highlighting the importance of national identity in the political discourse. At the same time, the use of the House of Cards as a metaphor suggests a broader critique of the global political order, where the actions of individual actors and the fragility of complex systems can have far-reaching and unpredictable consequences.
