About The Artwork

Have you ever tried to imagine what sunset in a future city will look like? This was created with a heavy texture, including the building outlines. The texture can be seen in the second image, which was taken at a severe angle.

Thomas Harjus is a self taught oil painter who lives on the south shore of Long Island, New York. Long Island is an island 15 miles North to South X 100 miles wide. It is a remnant of the last ice age, with a rocky/ hilly north shore and a sandy flat south shore (Atlantic Ocean). As do the vast majority of visual artists, he draws inspiration from his surroundings. Whether it is something as simple as everyday use in the kitchen, a run on a nearby trail, a walk on a nearby ocean beach, or out on the water, soloing in his sea kayak.
