ABOUT THE ARTWORK

This work, done in gouache and ink on paper, was inspired by reading I was doing about the various theories of how the universe came to being. There are many mythologies involving a primordial cosmic egg or world egg as the start of creation: I wondered if even this egg needed a nest to hold it. I hope people feel held and interested in their own cultural histories/legacies as relating to the origins of this beautiful universe. This painting is matted in white and framed in varnished wood, with hanging hardware installed.
