Hey everyone. My name is Tanya Zevallos. I love to paint abstract landscapes. My artworks depicts real images in a new and free way of representation. For that reason, at the same time that I use oil painting, a traditional medium, I prefer the CMYK gamut in my color palette: cyan, yellow and magenta. I love History and Philosophy, particularly Voltaire, Kant and Heiddeger, and also Schopenhauer. My work is influenced by Peter Doing, David Hockney and also Boticelli. I love to paint at sunny days, especially capturing happy and quiet Sunday's atmospheres. Among my favorite subjects are: Seascapes and Sunsets. Stars, Planets, Moons, Space Explorations. Ocean and Islands. Wild animals. Horses. Owls. And Lions. Planting and Gardening are also important to me ARTIST'S STATMENT My work explores the relationship between the human being and the beauty and complexity of nature. I create new realities through the principles of Color Harmony and Composition. Often this search breaks down by paths of randomness. I understand that much of the expressiveness and strength of my work lies there. In the early stages of my work, the forms are more realistic and detailed. The objects and places observed are clearly represented, and then move on to pictorial abstraction, as new materials, colors and influences, as well as new audiences, are incorporated. I define my work as Abstract Realism. Abstraction is a challenge to our perception. The way in which we interpret an abstract work depends on the meaning given to it by the person observing the work, in addition to the author's intention. With my work I intend that the person who observes perceives a positive atmosphere, although complex. It is the union of opposite or complementary elements that creates Harmony.
