The floral shop at LIberty store in London This store is one of the most beautiful for me. Whenever I go to London I try to have a look at it, for the atmosphere and the pleasure of the eyes. Here, I've painted the floral shop for the second time (The first was called Flower Power (sold). This painting has a certain atmosphere of melancholy brought by the pastel colours of the flowers surrounded by black painting.It's the symbol of the melancholy of autumn, for me. There is also a certain atmosphere between the outside of the building: the flowers are put on the pavement the colours are pastel and surrounded by pastel greys, and the interior of the building : orange like (it's the representation of autumn, period of Halloween...) The window of the store looks rather like a castel, supposedly haunted, of course! The painting is dated, signed, protected by a bright acrylic varnish Delivered with a certificate of authenticity The painting is ready to hang on a wall, the sides are framed with a black velvet ribbon.

I live and work in Paris suburbs. Living in a big city for half my life has influenced my work. I have a fascination for cities: noisy, overwhelming and lively, yet hiding people loneliness. I paint mostly urban landscapes: the interiors (shops, cafe, theatre house) full of details and colourful with very few details for the people: they are just part of the scenery. I’ve worked for the theatre for ten years and that experience gave me a love of colours, of framing my subject a certain way. I’m not looking for the exact repliqua of the reality but for an emotion I want to convey in my paintings through colors. My work is made of lots of layers of acrylic on a canvas, quick rough brush strokes and vivid colours. I use acrylic because it’s a medium that corresponds to my character: I’m impatient and this material suits me for it allows my painting a speed, a raw aspect, sometimes violent; I work in a kind of urgency.
