About The Artwork
Hydrangea from my garden. They have such lovely colors and the transparency of the flowers in the sunlight is beautiful. A whole new way of looking at hydrangea with this backlight captured in the evening light. I am always looking for a way to capture the light in my work. Flower paintings have been an important part of art history since ancient times. Many still life paintings with flowers by the old masters are already known. The realistic dreamy paintings Odile Redon to the abstract paintings of Mondrian and Picasso. Painting flowers is always a rewarding subject.
