About The Artwork
This is the third in my series of imaginative dancers. The figures combine a variety of dance forms in this colourful piece that includes: break dance, hip hop, jive. The painting also has some pop art elements if you look at the largest figure on the bottom of the piece. Although some of the dancers appear to be floating in space, they are actually doing some breakdance moves. I saw a lot of breakdancing one day and decided to create a fun, happy painting, using these kinds of figures. The color scheme is not as brilliant as the previous two paintings but the red,black,white, grey-blue and white color palette is dramatic too.

After retiring from a long, rewarding career as a high school teacher and administrator, Myra discovered the joys of painting, especially using water media.
