My inspiration is a afternoon walk in the flat country of the Netherlands. Sun is going under and brings beautiful colours over the landscape. I love the quietness of the sky comparing what's underneath the de skyline. So typical Dutch. I used paper tissue in the painting to create texture that suggests the shadow of the moment in the field. The painting is build up layer after layer with acrylic paint and medium (polymer). Just to get the right expression of the time, minute after minute, when the sun get's down. The sites are also painted, so a frame isn't necessary. And it's also ready to hang.

En Route "One should not think about the end result of one’s work, as one also doesn’t travel to arrive, but simply to travel." Goethe My creative brain never stands still. I paint, draw, make collages, photograph and editing in photoshop. As my mind wanders, so does my work. I am always looking for a challenge. I try everything in both abstract and realistic paintings. I like to work with transparent layers. I can play with what is visible and which accents may be clear. I like that "game" in which choices have to be made. It is not without reason that my main theme is "En Route". My fascinations for round circle shapes and lines are also recurring. Watercolour drawings. Currently I'm working with watercolours, metallic inks and fineliners. Inspired by sea life and zentangle-doodles. Creating my own (underwater) sealife fantasy. My latest bigger works are now, in a new collection, only for sale on Saatchi. If you are interested too see more watercolordrawings in different styles you can check my website or on instagram leanne_drawings. Landscapes. During travelling I pass beautiful landscapes. That's my inspiration for my abstract landscape paintings. During painting and listing to music I see the painting grow. It's just like you are on the road again. Therefore the latest artworks has named after the title from songs. Lay back on your sofa, put on the specific song and enjoy the painting. Animal Portraits. On Saatchi are my abstract animal portraits. The wulf is also used for a bookcover. The Italian translated version, un lupo fella stanza, of the French auteur Amélie Cordonnier. Manhole covers. I have a long-standing passion of photographing manhole covers. For now a little bid on hold and only commissions. Still I like them to leave here in the collection. For the happy and positive feeling. In The Netherlands there is an expression ‘in de put zitten’, meaning such as ‘feeling sad and depressive’. “Put” means manhole in Dutch. I combine flowers and manholes to say: ‘try to see the beauty of common things’. Enjoy and don’t feel sad, try to stay positive. Love Leanne
