On July 25, 1956, while heading to New York, the Andrea Doria was rammed and sunk by the Swedish merchant ship Stockholm of the Swedish America Line off the coast of Nantucket (USA), in what was one of the most famous and controversial disasters seafarers of history. the sinking of the Andrea Doria, at the time the most beautiful passenger ship in the world, has always aroused sadness, also for the way it had the disaster. I used oil, pastel and enamel and created a frame taken from a nautical chart.
