VIEW IN MY ROOM
Inspired by true story film about Candian folk artist Maud Lewis who was born with rheumatoid arthritis falls in love with a fishmonger, directored by EthanHawke. she loves window, birds, and animals. Only she wishes have a good brush, said " a whole of life already framed right there." I thought it was very touching story that I tried to express her free spiritual innocence. Maud Lewis used bright colours in her paintings, and subjects were often of flowers, oxen teams, horses, birds, deer, or cats. Many of her paintings are of outdoor scenes, like Cape Island boats bobbing on the water, horses pulling sleigh, skaters, portraits of dogs, cats, deer, birds, and cows. Her paintings were inspired by childhood memories' (Wikipedia) Maud Dowley, a somewhat eccentric, free-spirited woman whose rheumatoid arthritis and succession of life knocks never stopped her from seeing and revealing the joy and beauty in everyday life. Walsh’s film focuses on her austere romance with ill-tempered, emotionally stifled fishmonger Everett Lewis (Ethan Hawke), and her concurrent development into one of Canada’s more lauded and loved folk artists. Throughout my artistic journey spanning several decades, I have devoted myself to capturing the essence of my untouched soul within my creations. The medium of art has allowed me to fully utilize the vibrant color palette, enabling me to express my boundless creativity. With a playful approach to colors and shapes, I find inspiration in the exploration of human relationships, sensations, and emotions. A recurring theme in my artwork is what I call "Fairy tale realism," which delves into the enchanting wonders of nature, including symbolic representations of life's transformative moments and abstract imagery. My specialization lies in crafting expressive and vivid paintings, drawing inspiration from films based on true stories, as well as my background in music. I aspire to elevate these influences aesthetically through my contemporary artwork. Additionally, I am deeply intrigued by abstract figurative paintings that convey a range of emotional situations and experiences, filtered through the lens of memory. I embrace the idea of continuous modes, characterized by a sense of pluralism, allowing for the exploration of diverse concepts and perspectives. While I have a fondness for working with heavy mediums, I am also eager to explore the realms of illustration and watercolor. I firmly believe that there should be no boundaries between mediums and styles, as they serve as conduits for freely communicating my ideas and emotions. Art, for me, is a sacred platform through which one can truly communicate the depths of their soul and spirit.
