An apple sits in a cage as the ocean tide rushes in on a grey day. Off in the distance, a woman in a wedding dress, holding flowers is running away from the cage. Was this the forbidden fruit that she is trying to escape? Was she herself somehow victimized and now is trying to flee her past? There's a story built into this painting. How the viewer interprets it is entirely up to the individual.
