Michi Painting

Colombian artist and designer Cata Cayón uses techniques such as watercolor, acrylic, oil, collage and digital intervention. Her original paintings and textiles, which are inspired in the beauty that characterizes the vibrant nature and culture around her, are currently exposed in different art galleries and sold globally. Her artworks and textile designs can be purchased as individual, unique works of art or as wearable art in the form of textile based clothing and home accessories. Cata Cayón attended University of the Arts in Philadelphia, USA where she attained a bachelor's degree in fine arts with a concentration in Graphic Design. Additionally she studied Early Renaissance Art history in Florence, Italy and Marketing in Medellin, Colombia. Cata has worked in varied fields related to art and design. These have included corporate and publishing design projects where she has been Creative Director as well as being Senior Designer at a leading arts and design book publishing house in Colombia. Throughout the years, she has lived in Mexico, Brasil, Nigeria, USA and finally Colombia where she stablished herself. She has always had a keen eye to absorb the artistic culture and arts of the places she visits and those are reflected on her works and life. Nowadays she is dedicated to providing inspirational quality art that represents the flora, fauna and cultural style of her natal South America.
