About The Artwork
This work called Nymphs, is part of a series called Stolen Kisses, created recently in this terrible time of confinement. It born as a need to exalt beauty, love and pure feelings, above darkness, loneliness and fear. In this project, the common theme is love and human relationships, in this way the artist wants to bring light through scenes full of warmth, expressed in this painting through the approach of two people in a love scene or emotional relationship. Specifically, in the scene presented by the artist, we see a tender scene of sweet approach between a young couple, both are observed with sweetness and are shown in a situation of intimate abandonment, transmitting a feeling of well-being, peace and happiness. Technically, this work is the most colorful of the series and the largest, therefore the scene covers practically the entirety of the canvas. The use of blues, magenta, and earth tones stands out. The artist has worked the painting very fluid, giving prominence to movement through the drips, forming glazes, in order to direct the gaze towards the main points of the work, which are treated with more detail and definition than the rest.

Esther Martínez is a Catalan artist, who was born in Barcelona in 1973. her interest in art starts from a very young age, always with a pencil in her hand, drawing or creating anything. Art is for she a vital need, like breathing her way of expressing herself. In her adolescence she moved to Figueres, in the Alt Empordà land of surrealism and Dalí, for whom she felts fascination since she discovered his work. She has a restless and creative soul, always learning and experimenting with new creative ways. Normally she paints in large format because she thinks it is the best way for her works to convey all the strength and expressiveness. In her work I always try to capture feelings and experiences through the sinuous and broken line that draws her characters. The Human figure is always present in her work through the body and also the facess she speaks that what worries her, of the feelings, the relationships, or lack of them, the oppression of women, the lack of real communication of the world in that we live. Since 2012 he exhibits internationally in countries such as France, Belgium, Luxembourg, Italy, Portugal and Spain. He has obtained distinctions and awards such as the 1st prize of the public at the Valmy International Art Salon in 2015. He has work in public foundations and private collections.
