About The Artwork

Xu Bin's original oil painting, Parallel World III, invites viewers to ponder the possibility of a parallel world existing alongside our own reality. Through a harmonious and idyllic scene, the artist conveys the idea that this world could be filled with hope, freedom, and joy. In the painting, people and animals coexist in harmony, surrounded by a bright purple background. The figures are depicted from a bird's-eye view, with those in the front appearing lower than those in the back. This perspective adds depth to the painting and creates a sense of distance between the viewer and the parallel world, and it create positive meaning. The left central of the painting is a large yellow bird, which stands out against the purple background. The bird's friendly demeanor is evident as it greets the people in the scene. Other birds are also present, perched on the shoulders and heads of the people, adding to the harmonious atmosphere. The people in the painting are portrayed with smiles on their faces, enjoying the fruits of hope and exploring the world around them. They look content, suggesting that the parallel world is a happy place. The use of warm colors, such as orange and yellow, further reinforces the positive mood of the painting. Xu Bin's work raises interesting questions about the existence of a parallel world. While science fiction writers and scientists have long explored this concept, Xu Bin's unique perspective as a painter adds a new layer to the discussion. His painting shows that a parallel world could be a place where humans and animals live in harmony, where hope and freedom are abundant, and where exploration and discovery are everyday experiences.

I was born in 1969 in Guang'an, Sichuan, China. I graduated from the Fine Arts Department of Southwest Normal University and became a freelance artist afterwards. My early works were mainly oil paintings, influenced by Impressionist and Post-Impressionist artists such as Monet and Seurat. Through continuous learning and creative practice, I gradually integrated the artistic essence of Matisse, Picasso, Dali, Chagall and other artists, and combined with my own Chinese cultural background to develop my own mature artistic style.
